Lyrics located below

1. Love That Matters
Chinnichap-inspired tune originally written for a female impersonator. Then I thought, "Hey, I can be that female impersonator!"
2. The World Owes You Nothing
A cantankerous Disney-esque reflection on life.
3. Covish
Bouncy horn-loving acoustic pop that questions the place of our friend, the internet.  Written for use with the play Synonomy by Randy Wyatt.
4. Must Be Nice
Weird Al on steroids yelping for Pere Ubu as inspired by Was (Not Was) and The Dead Milkmen.
5. I Wish I Was Here
A string quartet here, a galloping acoustic echo there, and getting lost in imagination about those passed on.
6. Fixed
One big damn parade of a song. A ‘70s AM hit that never was.
7. Winter's Grey
Somber acoustic layers with "Alice in Chains" harmonies, leading into somber non-acoustic layered layers with no harmonies.
8. Here Come The Nasties
Is it a theme song? Is it a warning? Who or what are the Nasties? The same Nasties Elton John sang of? Chant along, clap along and care not.  If you like The Ventures with less than half the talent…..
9. Get Along
Breezy orchestrated layers of melancholy (sound pretentious enough?). Lyrically, a commoner’s attempt to turn “God Only Knows” inside out.
10. Desserted
A musically-innocent bubblegum ode to fun with food.
11. Unspoken
Melancholy acoustic strumming and piano, dedicated to many a stumbling outcast.

LYRICS

1 Love That Matters
It’s a tear from a song you hate

It’s love that matters

It’s agreed though you can’t relate

As mad as hatters

Fill the id to the brim, deflate,

Repeat and pine

Shut your face and admit this time

It’s a luxury to whine

It’s love that matters

Intellectualize

And despise

It’s love that matters

Lord above, none at all,

It’s your call

It’s love that matters

When you need to know every line

Before the words are spoken, fine

But fate has no concern for a formally

Educated mind

It’s love that matters

Tie it up, lick it down

And around

It’s love that matters

On the floor, leave you sore,

Needing more

It’s love that matters

Pair of thighs cushioning your eyes

It’s love that matters

On your back, get a taste and shine

And I’ll give you some of mine

It’s love that matters

2 The World Owes You Nothing
The world owes you nothing

But you’re invited to it all

Still you watch it fall

The world owes you nothing

The world owes you nothing

When entitlement’s your plea

You bathe in misery

The world owes you nothing

No ski trips, friends, or vacations,

No love, lies, loss, inspirations

No better things, financial dreams

No fame, no breath, no what it seems

The world owes you nothing

You’re a selfish whiny boor

Demanding us for more

The world owes you nothing

The world owes you nothing

It crushes every heart

You knew it from the start

The world owes you nothing

The world owes you nothing

The world owes you nothing

3 Covish
A lazy nothing evening

Sedated through the dawn

Of all the world I’ve seen tonight

I haven’t seen my lawn

So I bring the outside in

The flicker of a friend

Determined in a window

Defining who I am

And I don’t know how to say it

I type but can I face it?

I don’t know

I know more than I used to

I’ll never know enough

A fragmented solution

Can I turn it off?

And I don’t know how to say it

I type but can I face it?

I don’t know

I feel I’ve been had

I feel that I like it, too

You feel that there’s more to you

But you don’t know how to say it

Tomorrow or today it…

I don’t know

The comfort that I’m knowing

Can only match the urge

To live a month of Sundays
Though I could do without the church

4 Must Be Nice

.....

5 I Wish I Was Here
We’ve memories and friends

And breezy laughter

There was no prelude

There ain’t no after

There’s an endless supply

Of wine and song

And a boundless ability

To know all the words

We’ve got autumn colors and

Sapphire skies

And the night gives way to

A million lullabies

And I’m 5 and I’m 60

And I’m 37

And Glen Miller’s playing requests

All night

Because I know it’s responsible

I sometimes wish I was here

But then you’d be somewhere else

Remember the time

That you gave me the wrong gift

I was too young and selfish

To know I was wrong

Remember the times that I

Raised my voice

And you raised your voice

And

I don’t remember them either

So we’re back to the grandkids

And you can hear every sound

And you’re walking and we’re healthy

And there’s no end to be found

And every heart around us

Is beating

One

Immaculate beat

Because I know it’s responsible

I sometimes wish I was here
But thenyou'd be somewhere else

6 Fixed
You need to be fixed
You’ll never be better

It’s how you

Garner attention

And I don’t

Know why I didn’t notice sooner

And here I am again

Dreaming of nooners

But I’m all alone

Unfulfilled

With my telephone junkie heart

You don’t want what you want

You just want to want it

And now I have nothing to offer

But my time

And when did I sign up to fall short in

My line?

I’m stretching more

Than I can handle

And I’m ‘bout to snap

With a slap to my

Needy-ass junkie heart

I’m naked now only in theory

I only know previous dealings

The benefit of all the given was

Sucked into wasted emotion, though maybe once more

I need a good fix

I’m tired of waiting

But every time I meet another then I go

Adopting of mile of mountainous “I knows”

And leaving the best of the offer

Resolved to the coffin

And all of them crying out

Their tired-ass junkie hearts

7 Winter's Grey
Then again

It fades

Vibrant to

A haze

Wanted to touch you

Wanted to kiss you

Wanted to breathe you in

Prearranged regret

Shut down

All that’s left

Wanted to love you

Wanted to know you

Wanted to engage in sexual intercourse you

Away

8 Here Come The Nasties
N-A-S-T-I-E-S
Nasties!

9 Get Along
Nightly pacified into a calm

With you

We’ve become a part of every thought

Of everything I do

Maybe we just don’t get along

Maybe we need to move on

Bring with you an aching heart

A passionate embrace

Feel a connection from a

token movement of your face

Maybe we just don’t get along

Maybe we simply need to move on

Years invested

Realize our time is true

Absolute, imperfectly

In tune with everything we do

Maybe we just don’t get along

Maybe we need to move on

Maybe we just don’t get along

Maybe all our love is gone

10 Desserted

Come alive

Covered in the cloverleaf gold

Honeyed over, looking fine,

And flavored like you should be mine

A whipping

Creamy-coated chocolate kiss

Is savored for another moment

We dessert it, no dismissal

Bringing to full fruition

Another novel position

Recipe straight from the heart

We're gonna lie down maybe go

to a love we'd never know

from a world we don't control

from a world we don't control

Raspberry

Sweetness on your fingertips

Don’t let the drip down reach the cotton

Can we wait before you come

Over and throw all prudence to the side

and ride it out and give it what they

tell us that we should deny

Bringing to full fruition

Another novel position

Recipe straight from the heart

We're gonna lie down maybe go

to a love we'd never know

from a world we don't control

from a world we don't control

Yayayayay Love your life

11 Unspoken

When you feel

You’ve been broken

You’re taken in

Where a voice

Unspoken

Resurfaces beyond

The skin

On a ride

Defiled

So easy to convince yourself

They’re caring for you

All the while

And you falter

Beat us down

Demean our lives

There’s more to it than in your eyes

Suffocate

With a twisting of faith

There’s more hope than in your lies

There’s more here than we

Know

It’s not over

Knowing it never will be

No

Refutation

Can shelter you or me

In the dark

Where we hide

We only think it’s easier

Disconnected with our lives

And you’re wanted

Worth a day in animated memory

I admit a calling

Give it just a little more time

To realize we’re falling

I’m suggesting that we

Fall

To the light

I’m sure this feeling’s here for

Everyone

It’s a risk

That I like

Begin

Reflecting

The sun

The love

We deny

Will break and twist us never caring if we’re needing

Any help at all

Worth a life creating all our memories

I admit a calling

Accept it with the ego of a child

We realize we’re falling

It’s okay that we fell
